Introduction  > Need for change  > Role of wipro  > Programs  > FAQs

Children are inquisitive and natural learners. A good education system recognises this, and facilitates learning by providing a supportive learning environment that adapts to the child. The current system focuses excessively on rote and passing the examination and thus straight jackets the students. The current education system is not creating opportunities for development of our citizens and country. Thus, there is an urgent need for change.

Wipro believes every entity has a responsibility to improve the system it inhabits. As a member of the Indian society, Wipro would like to influence a movement towards quality in education. India is at a stage of development where there are multiple issues, all equally important and urgent – health care, infrastructure, water, education, etc. But Wipro believes education is the fundamental enabler of economic development and sustainable change. Hence, Wipro has decided to focus single-mindedly on "education" as the key issue.

The Wipro Applying Thought In Schools in an initiative to improve the Quality of Education. It works with Teachers, Principals, Parents, Educationists, NGOs and other education bodies to bring about this change.
