Change will happen when

  •  A critical mass of stakeholders – parents, teachers, principals, policy makers, educationists, influencers – desire change.
  •  Change is systemic.
  •  The system is shown how to change
Some early indicators of change

  •  The increasing pressure on children caused by an obsolete system is becoming apparent to many stakeholders.
  •  Across India, several initiatives have been undertaken – by individual stakeholders and organisations - that have shown systemic educational change
  •  The competitive context of an interdependent global economy has led to customer-centric efficiency-driven organizations that push decision-making down the hierarchy. Hence, economic opportunities are placing a higher value on communication skills, collaborative learning, creative thinking, critical thinking and systems thinking abilities Wipro sees greatest leverage in acting as an enabler. This will be structured around 3 mutually strengthening poles:

Build eco-system: Expanding and strengthening our network of partners engaging in education reform. Build upon the collective capabilities of the network to support new social organizations. Create platforms to realise the synergy of learning from each other, and to jointly advocate.

(Wipro and its partner network provide organizations with program support, confidence, trust and a platform to share collective learnings and experiences.)

Experiment and learn: Support diverse and intense experiments in education reform. Build a mechanism to consolidate our learnings and knowledge sharing. In the process, deepen the collective understanding of what it takes to change the fundamental character (philosophy, culture and competence) of schools.

Advocate: Use documented experiences and learnings, partner eco-system and Wipro’s strong brand to advocate through policy and media.

Advocacy will provide radical stimulus to cascade the desire for change. The network will channelize and synergise the resultant energy. Intervention gives us the foundation to build.
